My name is Kyra...I'm a 17 year old aspiring Gospel singer/songwriter/performer from Norfolk, Virginia. I previously attended Denver School of the Arts where I was a Vocal Major for 2 years. While living in Denver, I performed in various stage productions such as "DSA Pop Show: The British Invasion"(vocal) and "If We Ever Needed the Lord Before" (stage play/musical theatre). I have been singing for about 7 years, playing the piano (by ear) for about 4, and writing music for almost 3. I sing in many groups throughout the Virginia area including the Cedars of Lebanon Community Choir under the direction of Mr. Donald Green. I sang at the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Campmeeting in Pennsylvania and at the Annual Unity Day in VA, both in the summer of 2007. I also love to act in and write plays. I performed in a stage production at the annual Afram Fest in Virginia where I played a young struggling mother of 5. I'm always performing and I plan on continuing on to a music career. {Back up plan, MED SCHOOL! :-)}
3rd place in the Optimist Vocal Competition (VA)
I love singing, writing music, acting, writing plays, performing, taking pictures, etc. I also enjoy doing community service, shopping, and going to school (yes, going to school!...I'm quite a nerd...hehe).
My entertainment goals include writing for current and aspiring solo artists/choirs/ groups and duos/etc., becoming a successful Gospel artist, and eventually starting a Gospel/Christian Contemporary record label.
